Every person you see in uniform at den meetings, pack meetings and special events is a VOLUNTEER!
Whether you like being around people or by yourself, working with your hands or your head, organizing or cleaning up, working with kids or adults – we have a place for you!
It takes all of these different personalities to fill the volunteer needs of the pack.
Pack 122 needs your help to keep the tradition of Scouting alive and well in Salem, Oregon.
Because families ultimately move on to Scouting (formerly Boy Scouts) and leave their Cub Scout volunteer roles, the Pack always has a need for new volunteers to keep the Pack going.
The Pack’s succession plan provides for a 3-year rotation for most positions. The first year is spent shadowing the incumbent, the second year is spent in the position, and, year three is mentoring the incumbent.
Ideally, this 3-year cycle provides every volunteer with the support and resources needed to be successful. However, for this plan to work, it requires that some positions be filled every year.
